Nakia Brim MS, LPC
I believe that counseling is a collaborative, safe space where you can connect with yourself and heal from the past. My goal is to gently guide you through the process of untangling trauma, childhood, and interpersonal wounds that still echo in your everyday life. Then, I will assist you in applying tangible skills to continue building a life you want that is no longer based in ‘survival mode’.
I understand that trauma, attachment style, and boundary issues can affect the nervous system. With this in mind, I also am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to reduce the effects of unprocessed traumatic memories. By offering a compassionate blend of empathy and gentle accountability, I help clients mend old wounds, establish healthy boundaries in your relationships, and cultivate better decision-making skills.
As you learn a new perception of peace, you inherently change how you interact with the world. I support you in shifting away from exhausting, transactional dynamics and moving toward authentic, supportive relationships where you feel genuinely seen and respected.
If you are ready to nurture your present self, break free from past patterns, and claim your personal autonomy, I am here to help you build a life defined by your own values, identity, and self-governed freedom.
